3 ways for DIY Who costumes from How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Dressing up like a Who from Whoville is quite possibly the easiest DIY costume to assemble! You don’t even technically need anything officially Christmasy to succeed! Think layers, poofy skirts, chunky knits and as long as you style your Whoville hair and makeup appropriately, you are set! Today I am sharing 3 different types of DIY Whoville costumes for you to create out of your own closet!

“Cindy Lou Who” Whoville Costume:

This is one of my favorite Whoville costumes! While Cindy Lou is clearly a Who, she is also frequently seen in the movie wearing pink! As opposed to strictly red and green… Maybe it’s a symbol of her yule tide doubt, but I love it!

How to assemble:

Think pink and white for this costume. Find a fluffy skirt if you can, and tie a big pink or white ribbon in your hair! Complete the look with furry boots!

“Cindy Lou in the mailroom” Whoville Costume:

Do you recall Cindy Lou’s encounter with the grinch in the mail room? She thanked him for saving her, and as punishment, he wrapped her up like a Who present! This is a totally unique approach to the easiest Whoville costume ever!

How to assemble:

Anyone can do this costume! Slip on some black spandex and tank tops, then wrap yourself up with a sheet of Christmas wrapping paper! This leaves you with a bit of a boxy look, so tie a ribbon around your waist to accentuate your curves.

“Traditional Christmas” Whoville Costume:

And of course, we cannot forget the Who’s love of everything Christmas! Wear anything and everything red, white, green, and Christmassy!

How to assemble:

Pull out everything red and green from your closet! If you have an ugly Christmas sweater, you could assemble an even better costume! Don’t forget that you can layer a sweater over your favorite Christmas dress, too! And crinoline is a bonus if you can find some!

Child’s Whoville Costume:

And of course, we can’t forget the littlest girl in the house!

How to assemble:

Anabelle’s hair was too short for the traditional Whoville hair, so we tied an oversized ribbon in her hair. We didn’t have a poofy Christmas dress for her yet, so we went with the Cindy Lou theme by dressing her in pink. And of course we completed the look with some furry boots!
