A pretty holiday full of red and pink, with doily’s and sweet hearts was just too perfect! I just had to make a fun backdrop for my little valentines. And bonus: no sewing or glueing for this shabby chic Valentine’s Day backdrop!
I actually could have just used all the red and white fabric from the American Flag backdrop I made last year, but I decided to switch out for some super feminine fabric. I did, however, use the feminine white fabric, lace, and pom poms as well as the red tulle from the American Flag backdrop.
DIY Shabby Chic Valentine’s Day Backdrop:
1. Cut the fabric into strips.
I kept the fabric to dainty, girly fabric. I used the white lace and pom pom fabric and red tulle from my American Flag backdrop. Then I added some very light pink tulle.
2. Tie the fabric to a rod or stick.
Again I just used the stick from my American flag backdrop. Any rod will do.
3. Wrap clear rubber bands around the tulle.
The pink tulle was not staying bunched in strips and was kind of all over the place. So I took some clear hair tie rubber bands (the largest ones) and slipped two over each strip of tulle to help contain it.
4. String the hearts.
I found these hearts at JoAnne Fabric for $1.25! I strung them after I hung the backdrop to avoid tangling. Tie a piece of string to the stick. Tape the back of the hearts to the string.
