When it came time to plan Anabelle and Betty’s birthday party, I decided that instead of having a fancy theme of my choosing (I was thinking tea party almost the entire year leading up to this party!), I wanted to go a more traditional route. I wanted to fill the party with things that I thought Anabelle would love, like pom-poms, party hats, sprinkles, balloons, and lots of colors! It was going to be a child’s dream come true!
Anabelle loved helping me out with each pom-pom party hat, and each one got her so excited for the party! These hats were pretty quick and easy and made a bold statement. She handed them all out before opening her presents, but when it came time for her to wear one, she was too busy…
Oh well, she had fun with them and they were still totally worth it.

Pom-pom party hat tutorial:
1. Begin wrapping the yarn around two fingers. The more you wrap, the thicker your ball will be.
2. Once you have the desired thickness, cut the yarn. Grab the end of a new piece with your same two fingers still wrapped in yarn, and pull it through the center of the ball as you remove your fingers. Tie this piece of yarn into a tight knot.
3. Take scissors and cut open the ball of yarn. This will leave you with a mess of a pom-pom. Trim the yarn until the desired shape is reached.
4. With a hot glue gun, get as close to the center piece of tied thread as possible. Glue this center to your party hat.
