I have big news! Kevin and I bought a house! We are so excited! We close in February, but I couldn’t help looking at decorating and interior design ideas all weekend long! Kevin and I are already having so much fun thinking of ideas to really make this place our own! It will take a while, but it will be fun!
Today I want to start with the kitchen! As with any kitchen I have had in the past couple years, this kitchen also just doesn’t seem to have enough cabinet space. And since it’s a kitchen that’s all mine, I get to do whatever I want!!! So today’s inspiration starts here, beginning with a little open storage!
An island would also be a fantastic way to add that little bit of extra storage I need! Plus I don’t think I can ever get enough counter space!
With my own kitchen I also get to do fun, little, silly things! Like chalkboard paint! How cool is that! If Kevin eats the last of the crackers, he can write it on the grocery list! Maybe along with a cute little note! Ok, maybe I’m just being cheesy now, but it’s a fun idea!
I have so many pots and pans and I store them all horizontally on shelves. Can you imagine the space I’d save with this idea?!
To find something to transform into an island, I am going to have to be frequenter of thrifting! I almost see this as a new hobby! I’m excited. And while I’m at it I want to see if I can make this. Maybe it will be functional, maybe just decoration, but we’ll see what I come out with!
